ACT Singers proudly presents.....Sundays with Gilbert & Sullivan...Trial By Jury
ACT Singers proudly presents.....Sundays with Gilbert & Sullivan...Trial By Jury and other highlights.
When? Performances - 2pm Sundays 11th & 18th April and 2nd & 9th May
Where? Austrian-Australian Club, Heard Street Mawson
Tickets? $15 each - available from the Club Restaurant (Tuesdays - Sundays 6pm - 9pm) or at the door.
The first half of the performance is comprised of the one-act comic opera, Trial By Jury, the tale of a jury and the public who assemble to hear a case of breach of promise of marriage. Things look bleak indeed for Edwin who pleads in his own defence, to a rather comically unstable Judge, that since nature is constantly changing, it surely is no offence to love this young lady today and love that young lady tomorrow.
The second half of the show is comprised of famous songs and choruses from other G&S shows including HMS Pinafore, Patience, The Mikado, The Gondoliers and The Pirates of Penzance.
